A bridge over a river

As I have build new riverbanks for my wargaming terrain I needed a bridge to cross the river. First of all I needed banks for the bridge. I build theses, as I build all my terrain tiles, from extruded polystyrene sheets. The bricks are engraved into the polystyrene. I added sand and gravel painted the banks and added self-made flocking material.

The Bridge itself is 3D printed the file is from a WOW Kickstarter.

Here are pictures of the different build stages :

The white sampans are from the WOW Kickstarter, too the dock is from cults 3D.

Here are pictures of the completed bridge:

I probably will ad some more dirt and algae to the bricks towards the waterline.

NVA foreward observer

This is a miniature belonging to the HMG set made by Empress Miniatures. I based him individually to be able to use the miniature in different roles on the tabletop. As you can see he is equipped with binoculars so could be an observer not only for the HMG group but also for mortars etc.

next up another marine.

Star Wars legion alliance trooper

Here is the next rebel trooper for our Star Wars collection. A standard trooper from the starter set.

More to come in the future.

2nd fireteam leader

This is the miniature I will use as the 2nd fireteam leader in my games.

One more Marine and the 2nd fireteam is finished.

Another RPG-7 armed NVA soldier

Here is another RPG-7 armed soldier of the NVA. This time in a kneeling firing position.

More to come..

A R2 unit for Star Wars Legion

This R2 unit was 3D printed with a photon resin printer. The stl file is from Thingiverse .

A special US Marine

Today I have a very special us Marine for you. If you look beneath the M16 you might catch a glimpse of what I painted on this Marine.

I painted the cloth he has tucked into his ammo belt as a US flag . At least I tried to.

More to come!

A RPG 2 gunner

The next soldier of the NVA , armed with a RPG 2 and a rifle.

Painting this figure was really fun. The rounds for the RPG are very well sculpted indeed.

The Doliche Diaries

You always wanted to know how an excavation is done? Why we do what we do? You have asked yourself what we actually do during a day of an archaeological excavation? Or do you want to know how we prepare for a 2-month-long excavation abroad? Then follow our journey. We will publish reports, pictures and background information about our excavation project in Doliche, south-east Turkey. The aim is to show our work from a different perspective than the sole academic viewpoint. We hope to give you a glimpse behind the scenes of our everyday life.

Follow our Blog entries or have a look in our galleries for pictures from recent excavations. We will keep you updated during our stay in Doliche and will also post entries which follow our work after the campaign is over.

The Doliche Diaries is a Blog my Son Fynn runs. He is an Archeologist, figure painter and wargamer. The blog content is not really about figures, wargaming and terrain like this one, but you can learn a lot about how archeology works on a day to day basis. So if you collect Roman armies or have an interest in roman culture have a look at The Doliche Diaries !
