And two Dog Boats ( Fairmile D):

The first one is a standard Warlord one .

The second is changed by reducing the torpedo armament and increasing the gun armament:

Haven’t used them in a game yet . So can’t say if the increased guns are worth it. The models are all from Warlord . Some of the weapons on the second Dog boat are scratch build.

Rheinland build finished

This weekend I finished building the steamer Rheinland. The model is to be used for the Cruel Seas game from Warlord. It is in 1/300 or 6mm scale. it is completely scratch build . More about the build herehere, and here.

I did the molds and the resin casting, too.

The only thing missing are the lifeboats. I will build a Kriegsmarine version next. Depicting the ship as a Hilfskreuzer ( auxiliary cruiser).

A little bit more progress on the Steamer for Cruel Seas

I did a little bit more with the Rheinland steamer. basically more sanding and filling. I added the funnel and the life boat racks. now only the fine detail like windows , anchors etc are missing. Then molding will commence .

I will be at the Kiepencon on Sunday with a cruel seas participation game more info on the con here.

Hope to see you there!

The next ship to be build for Cruel Seas will be a 1/300 cargo steamship . It will be a bit bigger then the Rheinland.

Cruel Seas

I preordered the Cruel Seas game at this years Crisis in Antwerp. it is a game depicting small boat action in coastal waters. The game is by Warlord Games.

“In Cruel Seas, you take on the role of a naval crew manning their fragile coastal craft as they head out day and night to take on both the sea and the enemy. Command your flotilla of small ships as they head out to attack a convoy, drop off Commandoes for a behind-the-lines mission or task them with one of the other myriads of missions this small and versatile craft would perform.

Be it the Coastal waters of England or across the Channel to France, on to the Mediterranean waters or on further to the vast Island chains of the Pacific, Cruel Seas will ensure your small ships see plenty of adrenaline-fuelled action.

Cruel Seas is a 1/300th scale tabletop miniatures game where you command flotillas of small ships in battle. Action in the game is fast-paced – with six or more ships per side, a thrilling seaborne dogfight can be fought in forty-five minutes or less.” According to Warlord Games.

Here is a video about the game mechanics :

And an interview with John Stallard about the development of the game:

As soon as I have the game at home i will do an unboxing here on wargamesgazette!
