The Salute 2018 Photoreport

So another Salute is gone by and I took a lot of photos like every year. The show was like the years before very well organized and despite the mass of people there wasn’t a very  long delay to get in. The games were very well presented and the selection of traders was outstanding. But there is one point I have to criticize , the lighting . When you got into the  Salute venue it was very dark. So dark that it was sometimes difficult to take decent pictures ( as you sadly will se below). There could be more light and in the venue next door ( a wedding convention ) it was very different , much more light !

But without further ado here are the pictures:

A blood and plunder game:

Here you can see how dark it was:

A selection of the nice Sarissa MDF Buildings

Two games of Blood red Sky by Warlord , the carrier is in the same scale as the planes , outstanding:

New greens and plastic sprues from Warlord:

Doctor WHO by Warlord:

Victrix figures:

A world war II Game Leros

Painting tutorial:

Perry greens:

A Western game:

Saga by Gripping Beast:

Swordpoint by Gripping Beast:

The battle of TewkesburyMay 1471:

The Druid game by Wargames illustrated:

4 Ground buildings:

Glory in the halls of Montezuma

1761 Raid at Gaskin’s Plantation:

Zombie attack on Salute 18 ( an outstanding idea for a game):

Miscellaneous pictures:

So these are all the pictures I took . I hope you get an overview of the convention by them.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show and am already looking forward to next year ! Thanks Warlords for a splendid show and remember maybe next year the lighting could be better?!

Roll on Crisis Antwerp 2018!

The Tactica 2018 picture report, part I

The Tactica 2018 which was held on the 24th and 25th of Feb. 2018 in Hamburg Wilhelmsburg is over. Another great event with lots of familiar and new faces. There were really good demo and participation games as well as a lot of traders. As the venue is quite small, everything that would possibly fit in was crammed into it. The parking was a problem again as every year  as the venue car park is just to small. But as far as I know it would be a financial hazard to go to another venue as all other bigger ones are really big ones and therefore quite expensive. Anyhow another splendid show gone by, I will be back next year definitely.

And now the promised picture report. The traders and the crowed:

The attending sculptors and their work:

The Games:

Paper wargaming:

Game of Thrones:

Full Thrust:

Paunsdorf und Schönfeld , The Battle of Leipzig 1813:

Wolsung:

Zama, Hannibal against Scipio

The League of Augsburg:

Other games:

Duell in the south:

Another overview of different games:

Freebooters fate:

Bonny Prince Charly:

Princess Viktoria Louise:

Aggro:

Frankfurter Beer fight:

The second part of the pictures will follow tomorrow!

Hamburg Tactica 2018

Ohne Titel 2

There are a lot of collectors of miniatures and wargamers of many systems in the north of Germany, but no specialized events to promote our models, exchange experiences or bring up new ideas, except the Hamburg Tactica , which takes place on the weekend of the 24th and 25th of February 2018, again.

Hosted by the Wargaming Club Hamburg, the convention in the Bürgerhaus Wilhelmsburg is  a gathering point for local, national and international collectors and wargamers.

It is the goal of the Wargaming Club Hamburg to support popular gaming systems by playing tournaments and demonstration games and promote new systems.

Fantasy and SciFi as well as historical gaming systems in all scales are welcome.

The concept of their demonstrations is „Come & Play“. Their exhibitors are happy to explain rules and tactics and visitors are welcome to join the gaming – they can even bring their own miniatures to take part in a game.Hamburg

How to get there:

The Hamburger Tactica 2018 takes place at:
February 24th and 25th, 2018.
Bürgerhaus Wilhelmsburg,
Mengestr. 20, 21107 Hamburg
Saturday 24th from 10.00 AM – 07.00 PM
Sunday 25th from 09.00 AM – 04.00 PM
Entrance Fee:
€ 7.- on Saturday,
€ 5.- on Sunday / € 10.- for both days
(Children under 10 years of age don’t have to pay fee)

Special miniature of the Hamburger Tactica 2018: Heinrich Barth

2018_sondermini_tactica_06

This year, the TACTICA figure follows the theme room into the desert. We present Heinrich Barth, the famous Hamburg Sahara explorer.

In 1849, Barth set out with a British expedition that would take him across the Sahara. The journey took him over Ghat, the foothills of the Tassili n’Ajjer and the Hoggar Mountains to Tintellust in the Aïr Mountains. From there we went to Agadez in Niger and finally to Timbuktu. After many adventures, including battles with predatory Tuareg, he returned home in 1855. Unfortunately, his travels are still shadowed unfairly by other big names, because Barth did not know how to market his discoveries. Nevertheless, Heinrich Barth is one of the great explorers of Africa in the 19th century.

As always, our 28mm figure was modeled by Frank Germershaus.

I will be at the Tactica on the 24th (Saturday) and I will take a lot of pictures so expect a photo report after the event.

Here  are pictures of last years Tactica as a teaser!
