Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created for HBO by showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin’s series of fantasy novels.
The series, set on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos at the end of a decade-long summer, interweaves several plot lines with a broad ensemble cast. The first narrative arc follows a civil war among several noble houses for the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms; the second covers the attempts of the exiled last scion of the realm’s deposed ruling dynasty to reclaim the throne; the third chronicles the rising threat of the impending winter and the legendary creatures and fierce peoples of the North.
I started to build a 28mm Stark Army a few month ago. This army is intended for the SAGA rules by Gripping beast.
The Starks are the leading house of the North. Their banner is a grey direwolf on a white field and their motto is “Winter is Coming.” Before the Conquest, members of the house ruled as kings of the North.
A new Stark mounted sergeants unit. This will be a 6 men unit for Lion Rampant /Dragon Rampant.
And here are new pictures of the completed Army:
So now the archer unit is finished. Here are the pictures of the new unit:
The complete Stark army so far. I will add another archer unit.
Here is the complete Stark mounted sergeants Unit:
And the last one:
The next sergeant:
The banner bearer:
Here is the Third Stark mounted sergeant:
And another Stark Sergeant:
Here is the leader of the new Sergeants unit for my GoT Stark army. This will be a 6 men unit for Lion Rampant /Dragon Rampant.
The leader of the unit was built from fireforge pieces. The dog is from Gripping beast.
The Leader of my Stark Army is Robb Stark. You can read more about this figure here ( If you haven’t read the books or watched the films yet don’t go there!!!!)
This picture shows two different models of Robb Stark. On the left you see a Robb figure I did after I read the books . So he looks like my very personal version of Robb. On the right you see a figure I did after the GoT TV series character.
I like my version better then the other and therefore the complete army will look more medieval then in the TV series. Both figures were build with parts from the Perry and Fireforge sets.
On the last picture you see Robb with his Dire Wolf.
Here is a Robb figure on horseback
In the SAGA game you have different unit typs. the most heavy hitting one is the Hearthguard.
In my Hearthguard unit I have the following members:
Ser Gawen Glover of house Glover of deepwood motte
Deepwood Motte is a wooden motte-and-bailey castle situated northwest of Winterfell in the very northern edge of the wolfswood near tidal flats of the Bay of Ice. Robett Glover rules the house, although he seems to share power with his brother Galbart. Robett’s wife is Lady Sybelle and he has two children by her, his heir Gawen and his daughter Erena.
Ser Hallis Mollen of house Mollen
The only member of the house to appear is Hallis Mollen, called Hal, a member of the household guard of
Winterfell.
Ser Roderik Cassel
The Cassels are household knights sworn to the Starks in Winterfell. Ser Rodrik Cassel, an old knight, is master-at-arms at Winterfell. He will be the leader of my hearth guard unit.
The fourth knight will be the banner bearer of this unit alas he is not finished jet. (Pictures and info to follow)
The next unit is a warrior unit:
and the last unit wich is finished so far is a levies unit:
All the figures were build out of a mix of parts of the gripping beast , Perry and fire forge plastic sets and a lot of green stuff . All the heraldry on the shields and the banners are freehand.
On the painting table at the moment are the fourth hearthguard model and a 6 man warrior unit on horseback.
As there are increasing numbers of plastic sets this year I am sure that there will be more to come

Nice work. I must confess I would be lazy and do the wolf shield blazons as printed decals. I have had good success printing decals.
